A warning, K-Lite codec pack can install Infatica.

That is new. It's seems obviously a commercial deal with Klite. I personally wouldn't want it installed. Web search results: https://blog.oudel.com/exploring-infatica-p2b-network-windows-11/ https://infatica.io Thnaks for bringing this to everyone's intention.

A warning, K-Lite codec pack can install Infatica.

Have you asked the authors why it installs this if it has legitimate uses? It maybe for their update service or some other reason eg usage data. I have Klite on my system and malwarebytes and it doesn't detect infactia on my system albeit my klite is an older version.

    IPC-HDW2439TP-AS-LED-S2 WDR? How?

I've personally never found a shutter much slower than 1/250th ie 4ms combined with a gain of 50 of much use with full colour at night as it doesn't take much movement to induce blur. If you can manage 4ms, that's my recommendation as every step slower will increase the risk of blur. Your...

Moving to new house. What are your latest recommendations for cameras, POE switches, etc?

Or ask yourself if the tree area is critical. If you have another camera mounted low down that covers the approach from the tree, it may not be so vital to cover that small proportion anyway, Another approach maybe to mount the ptz low down on the corner of the house so it sees below it. People...

Moving around storage and removing a drive - best way to move clips?

I've had no issues with mine set to rebuild every night and it usually only takes a few seconds due to the frequent rebuilds minimising the chance of anything happening at that exact time.

    Camera recommendations for Europe

For movement you want to be running a fast shutter anyway. A classic mistake is to obtain a "good"picture by boosting up gain and slowing shutter right down, only to get semi transparent nreognisable trailing ghosts when someone moves. The quality of your pic at night is always dictated by the...

    Nosey neighbor?

You could point it down a little to re-assure if anyoine comes around from law enforcement you're not deliberately looking at his property. Looking at your screenshots, lowering it to exclude the roof of his house would cover more of the ground in front of yours whilsts till giving you a view of...

how to block wind rumble physically - wheres mic

It doesn't affect clarity. If you'd done this you'd probably understand that. I have just cheap fur pieces on mine from Amazon (are supposed to be mini dead cats but that's questionable). There's very little difference in general pick up and it's cetainly not reduced in clarity. Part of the...

    Dahua WizColor COMING SOON!

Wish they wouldn't TIOC everything, but provided it can be switched off, not an issue other than the money might be better spent elsewhere. Looking forward to some reviews though especially vs 4kt and 541R. My biggest fear having watched their demo videos is the low light performance might not...

    Blue Iris Forums Gone?

Hi, Have the Blue Iris forums completely gone? I went to the BI website to try to find some info about BI 6.0 and it said the forums were no longer linked due to issues with spam bots and to add bbs to the forum address. I tried this, and ended up at an empty blank board with no forums /...

What PTZ to buy for a 22 acre property?

Try 2-4mp on a PTZ. Many might say 2mp for max night view. The pixel count matters much less because the optical zoom gets you in close negating the need to zoom into the picture manually for a better look & ensuring sharpness and clarity. All depends on how you set the zoom up, but many have it...

Why so apprently limited options to secure the admin account on Dahua cameras?

Wireguard built into Asus Router. Couldn't get OpenVPN to configure. It resets the key when the router is powered down.

Would a Properly Wired House for Security Cameras Increase its Value?

For that price you could probably just run armoured Cat 5. My upstairs PC Cat 5 goes external so I bought some armoured Cat 5 they use on oil rigs etc. I'd think it's more rodent resistant than the thin mesh. It's got a really thick tough coating around a wire wound outer consisting of...

Would a Properly Wired House for Security Cameras Increase its Value?

In the UK I'd say no. However, it may increase the saleability of your home as it's another plus point and differentiating factor from other homes. People are not blind tot he fact it would cost a lot of money and disruption to wire LAN networks into a house at a later date. Some recent estate...
