Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

While the upload date may show 2026, I'm pretty sure the latest firmware is 12/17/2025 ... which should be "V3.146.0000000.5.T, Build Date: 2025-12-17" Speaking of which, any mention @EMPIRETECANDY of another update coming?

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

LOL that @EMPIRETECANDY is going to have to start a new "2026" thread ... ;-)

What's in the Pipeline for Dahua's 2026 Lineup?

I've read elsewhere how the G6 Pro is a "good" camera in low-light ... but based on your experience, the current crop of Dahua's cams (S3) are much better in low light?

    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

That's a GREAT side-by-side shoot-out ... I wish all comparisons were as good as this. The 5442 definitely appears better than the 54PRO ... not just in dynamic content (day and night) but even the daytime static content looks better to me. @wopi82 posted it in his review here where he makes...

You can see the "shadow boost" in all of the images - look at the strip of grass in front of the house and the bushes in the back. As I said, have you tried Backlight HLC=ONE

Here's a comparison of those two images that show the "fog" I'm talking about. Check out the golf cart, tires, grass, bushes in the back, etc. First animated GIF is your images "lined up" as discussed below - second is the originals you posted. As mentioned earlier, your cameras aren't lined up...

Have you tried the Backlight HLC=ONE "hack" on the T54PRO-ZE ... that first image with the golf cart especially looks like it has the "fog" overlaid on top of it ... so no true blacks, plus loss of sharpness. Super-simple to test in a static scene - take a snapshot via the web interface, ONLY...

How often are you successful in picking up women at the bars by showing them your Sekonic?!? ;-)

Roger all that @tmxv4128 and yea, I figured you were a "deranged photographer" (meant as a compliment) as I was. As you know, there is a mantra in our world to "expose to the right" ... since (with RAW), we can often recover/tame those highlights ... but hard to recover details in the blacks...

GREAT report @tmxv4128. I've highlighted items #6 and #10 because they seem possibly contradictory if I'm understanding it right. I also think there is more dynamic range (with true blacks and better highlight control) ... but when you say "flat response", do you mean the histogram doesn't...

Assuming similar values (at least shutter speed), the 5442-S3 is clearly superior to the T54PRO-ZE in those pics!

I'm real interested to see what others show/think of the 1217FW in non-overview scenes ... comparing it to earlier firmware (same camera) and also against the 5442-S3 which is the reference.

In IR, if I want to do a 6msec shutter speed (iris 100), I'm already at gain of 60, which is pushing it ... and that's my last "dial" to adjust. Sure, I can make the gain even higher on the 5442-S3 to match the brightness of the T54PRO-ZE, but I'll pay the price in terms of increased noise. In...

@bigredfish : Look at the shadows in the poster image of the Youtube video - there are at least two light source - one on the left side casting the faint shadow behind and to his right, and a stronger light on right side casting the darker shadow behind and to his left.
