Definitely high, but some Ubiquti networking equipment supports PoE+++

it's not.. it's simple POE+...

Please remember those Edge cameras have Ubiquity NVR and Ubiquity AI Key built-in..

They can work STANDALONE in any network, without Ubiquity NVR (they use SD-CARD as storage)..

PS. Availabity from Q3 2026.. I don't know why they introduce them now...

I just complained about Ubiquiti Cameras requiring UniFi Protect or else the cameras fail to connect to the network and cannot even be used with Blue Iris. I guess these Edge AI cameras solve that problem but at an EXTREMELY PREMIUM COST. Its ridiculous everything can change for the better with firmware modifications, enabling the ability to work without the need of UNVR. I bet @wittaj even agrees, lol

These will be very expensive for DIY. They are meant to compete with Verkada etc for a fraction of that price point.

I see one downside on these.... So these use way more power than the current Unifi cameras... BUT according to the spec sheets, the temperature rating is still the same.

More power equals more heat needing to be dissipated. I mention this because here in Texas, Ubiquiti cameras and access control equipment has lots of issues due to heat. My coworker got the G6 PTZ the week it was released and it died an hour after installation due to heat. Access control readers have had the face fall off from heat. Compare this temp rating to a Hikvision or Dahua.... Ubiquiti is really lacking. Then there is the partial plastic construction.

That's not good to hear - it makes sense though, Ubiquiti is an IT company, not a Surveillance Camera company :( Looks like they have a long way to go. @wittaj agrees

LOL... never heard of it... thought you were joking til I googled it!

Odd they say POE++ (and even another +) says Cat5e or better. Not sure I would want POE++ going 200' on a Cat5e. Don't remember my VDC drop per foot calculation at the moment but I know 1 exists.
