Dang! It was likely the sudden stop at the pavement after the fall that did the most damage....![]()
Another WTF...
Glad someone watched the whole video other than my wife. haha. I never got past the first 3 he was mentioning. My wife clicks on everything, I do fall myself for some things but she watches all the infomercials and tells me I need to do this and that, lol. This is a hyperbolic bullshit for the most part.
Starting with #10... Perhaps red light cameras have been reprogrammed, but the law hasn't changed anywhere I have seen-- it a light is yellow, you may proceed into the intersection (unless it is clear that you can't clear it). I have yet to see a single state law that says what happens when the light turns red. This is essential, since it allows drivers to legally clear left turns after oncoming traffic is stopped. I call bullshit.
#9: This is nothing new. Laws prohibiting holding portable devices in California (at least) were on the books YEARS ago. This includes sitting at a light. Nothing has changed. And no, touching your phone while in a mount is not illegal. And there has ALWAYS been laws against blocking your view-- I know of people getting tickets 40 years ago for having shit hanging from the rearview mirror.
#8: This is common sense. As a first responder, I am 100% behind this.
#7: Again, nothing new-- these laws have been around a long time. And I have not heard of anywhere that they can send you an automated ticket for it.
#6: OK... So dangerous drivers have shit to worry about. No big deal.
#5: Nothing new (as mentioned above). It's not like you NEED anything to hang from your mirror.
#4: It's a good thing to get old, incompetent drivers off the road. I wish we would do the same for others. And equipment inspections? I've seen so many accidents where people had bald tires... Should be enforced!
#3: Oh, for fuck's sake. PANIC!!!!!! There are laws against people doing stuff to avoid tolls! And I love how he asserts that "all officers" have been TRAINED to do this!!!
#2: Yawn!!! As much as I don't like the privacy invasion, it's nothing new.
#1: OK, thanks Biden and Company.
In other words, this is just click-bait nonsense. This guy's a douche canoe.
When I lived in Texas in a previous century I thought at least one part of the inspections was a scam. Every second year my headlights were aimed too high, and on the other years they were aimed too low. Now I think the newer blinding headlights are a serious problem and wish there was some enforcement. Some of it is bad aiming, and some of it is just plain bad design. Either way I'm often blinded at night by oncoming cars shooting the main beam straight into my eyes. This trend of using the lights as styling is IMO also a problem. In the past the lighting was pretty standardized, 2 light sources from at a fairly standard height, both front and rear. Now the number of light sources is all over the place, some are high up, some down low, and turn signals do various dances. It's all a distraction for the other drivers, and compromises the perception of following distance and rate of closure at night. On the bald tire thing, I agree, but sadly Texas just got rid of vehicle inspections, which I think is a bad thing.
Agree. I was saying this was because of my age for awhile until younger family and friends said the same thing. Bright White LED lights are my problems as others has also mentioned. The yellow older type lighting I can deal with, it is not blinding. When I lived in Texas in a previous century I thought at least one part of the inspections was a scam. I would like to change the headlights in my 2025 RAM 1500 but have not looked into what is available yet. It would be great to be one less vehicle on the road without blaring lights...
tannerite??
