I purchased this for $281 from Nelly's Security back in November of 2025. That price increase is insane. Looks like some other places have it for >$100 less than the price you mentioned.
I spent months trying to find a worthy replacement for the EZVIZ DB1 I was using which would randomly stop ringing my doorbell which required a power cycle. I had the RCA version of that doorbell prior, but a woodpecker poked a hole in the PIR motion sensor, plus it too would randomly go offline. I was searching for a single camera, fisheye lens that would capture everything (person plus the entire area directly in front of the door) like the DB1 did, but I also needed RTSP support for my NVR software. While not a hard requirement, I also wanted a doorbell that was mostly white. I couldn't find anything with those criteria. I finally started looking for 2 camera doorbells with RTSP support. This one seemed like the best one.
It's been pretty solid in terms of replacing the DB1. Best of all it stays online and working all the time, unlike my DB1. I have a couple complaints, however. Before I explain them, their support sent me some links to an updated firmware and alternative app that may solve these complaints. First, the package detection was poor. I'd get false notifications for drop-off and pickup alerts. Sometimes there was no package at all. Sometimes it just lost track of the package that was still there. My previous DB1 doorbell didn't have package alerts, so no biggie. I could just turn that off if I wanted to. Second complaint, the app experience when someone rings the doorbell isn't great. I get a notification, but I have to unlock the phone, tap on the notification, wait for the video to load, then decide if I want to answer the call. With the DB1, if I recall correctly, it showed the video right away even if the phone was locked, and I could decide to answer or reject right there. Lastly, I would get motion notifications when it was snowing. My front stoop isn't covered and the IR lights for night vision would really light up the snowflakes right in front of the lens causing motion alerts. I haven't played much with the settings to try to prevent this, yet. My DB1 possibly would have done that as well but I never had motion alerts enabled with that doorbell so I'm not sure.
Again, these issues may be fixed with their latest, not officially released, firmware and app. I haven't tried them yet. I was hoping they would push these updates to everyone soon. I don't like being a guinea pig. Overall, I am pleased with it.
