No sound to Play Live Audi but there is sound from recordings and UI3

Been trying to figure this problem out for many hours now. I am on the newest version 6.0.1.8 and tried 6.0.1.7 and 6.0.0.1 which didn't make any difference. Is there an option that I don't know about to configure audio?
I believe my audio configuration is correct for all of my cameras and the audio does work from the recorded clips and even UI3. But for the life of me I can't get the audio to work if I want to Play Live Audio after selecting a camera. Please help. thanks!
