Early in my career as a young Marine (cold war), I was taught that the AK-47 was inaccurate and a piece of garbage compared to our M16 (A1/A2), M4's, etc. Wrong. I love my Russian Mistress! So much so, that I know in a shit hits the fan moment and I need a rifle...THIS is what I will go for. I have a converted Saiga 7.62, and you would not know the difference. I LOVE, LOVE shooting her! My M16A2, pfffft. That spring noise. And I can't see that far any longer so 500 yards is a no go. Just a great rifle. The M16A2 is as well...but for close up (under 100 yards) will go with my Russian Mistress every time.
These magazines wanted me to empty my wallet a bit. Then I started reading up on them. They are cool, and I still might get one, but loaded, heavy they will be. So as safe queen and possible range dump, maybe. Carrying for me, nope. IMO
