Best Times To Bother Your Husband
The Babylon Bee

I put this in the joke section because that's what the media has become.

I see 2 options there.
I don't expect "journalists" to be math whizzes, but can't count to 2?

Italian Security Gives Women Wearing Burqas One Option… Remove It or Don’t Come In - Cypher News
Not to defend the lack of journalistic skills of many present-day writers, but I think in their mind they meant to say, in so many words, is "In order for you to come in, you must remove the burqa.....that's your ONLY option."

But since many schools, if not most, no longer teach sentence structure, word definitions, verb conjugation and vocabulary building, let alone word origins, it follows that poor writing and poor speaking is the result. Add to that the increasing use of cellular phones, messaging and email instead of face-to-face dialog since the mid 90's, many have just outright lost their ability to communicate effectively. This has also resulted in people losing the ability to properly interpret body language or receive helpful cues such as voice inflection. IOW, not only has upcoming generations lost their ability to write and speak effectively, they've also lost the ability to read and hear effectively. :(

Otherwise, I think it's an excellent article that touches on an increasingly serious and difficult issue that is happening across the globe.

^^^ Totally Agree. Sadly, I have fallen to laziness too with Spell Correction. It is almost as if I don't even try anymore, just get a word close or sounds like and pick the right spelling. Only thing going for me is I can still reconize, LOL, a mispelt, LOL, word...or can I? :), since they end up with a red underline...heck, I don't even know anymore...

I'm not dyslexic but my biggest problem when typing on a keyboard is letter swapping.....by that I mean when I want to type, for example, the word "guardian" it winds up "ugardian" quite often because the letters "G" and "U" are typed by a different hand and immediately next to each other. I think my left hand (for the "G") is too slow and although I think I typed correctly, the "U" from the right hand gets typed first and then the "G". I do this A LOT but it's my fault. A quick spell check catches it.

On another note, my Moto Android phone drives me NUTS not with spelling correction but word suggestions and unsolicited replacement! I can have 75% of a word like "satisfy" ON THE SCREEN and next thing I know it has been changed to "satisfaction" right before I don't notice and hit the "send" key. Arrrrgh! Unlike the above I don't consider this MY fault but it is VERY annoying.

I turned Off the word, grammar suggestions/corrections on my phone.

Kinda like the old joke where the guy emailed a neighbor thanking home for using his Wife (WiFi) while he was gone. lol

Many years back when all of this correction stuff was new, I remember one time while waiting in a parking lot for the wife, I texted a family member when asked what I was doing but the text got corrected I was doing my wife in the parking lot. LOL

OK, time for some amusing "Funny/Satire".....
