Review-EmpireTech IPC-B52IR-X3 1/2.8" CMOS 3 × 2 MP bullet cam

I did in past big post about this - there is second problem with focal lengths in cctv world...

not only they are recalculated / virtual - but ranges in varifocals are totally FAKED for marketing / comparison purposes..

because all focal lengths data given by Dahua or HIK are not true..

the only data we always should check are FoV data = how big horizontal / vertical Field of View is..

this is the only true (or almost true) data about camera / lenses in cctv world...

I am about to add some more cameras to my Blue Iris system, and it looks like two of these would be about perfect, combined with a panoramic pointing straight out of the driveway. What do you all think about pointing these out to the county road to capture the meth-heads casing places to rob? I'm not concerned about LPR right now, just capturing the traffic. I'm currently using a solar Wi-Fi Reolink Altas which has been surprisingly good, but the lag is unacceptable.

My plan is to put one of these on each side of the driveway, pointing to the opposite side - the east camera points west, and vice versa. Then using the triggers to make sure that the center, wide-angle cam captures them right in front.

As you can see, the distances are not prohibitive, only about 25-50 yards/meters.

I welcome any and all comments and suggestions.

* EDIT to add links to the two cameras I'm considering at the moment. *

The X3 does a nice job for being all in one unit. The IR is a blaster.

The 180 camera makes for a nice overview cam, but it doesn't see IR and you would either need enough light or run the white LEDs. Quality will be better than you have now, but fast moving cars will still be a blur at that distance and lack of light.

Thank you for your help. I'm not thrilled about using white light, but I have no problem with a pair of IR blasters. I was already looking at the Tendelux DI20's.

Comments on just using another X3, or something like the IPC-Color4K-X, either 3.6 or 6 mm lens? I'm not locked in to Dahua, if there's another make/model that would be better at capturing left-right moving vehicles at up to ~60 MPH at ~20 meters distance.

Thanks again.
