EmpireTech 2025 Autumn Sales

Look what the figurative cat dragged in!

Thanks @EMPIRETECANDY ! :D

I think the IPC-T54PRO-AS will replace a IPC-T54IR-ZE S3 at our driveway. Looking forward to explore the new possibilities with this camera (visible light; speaker)
Don't know where to place the IPC-Color4K-T though.

Hey guys

We will post the plan for the BF Sales tomorrow morning, also with the lottery.

Andy
You'll probably sell more lottery tickets if NONE of the winning prizes are any of the new Dahua models.

I think you are being too judgmental here. We're seeing that the PRO is not meeting a lot of peoples' expectations. For me so far with my sample of one unit, yes, there are some things I'm disappointed with. But there are other things it's doing nicely. I'm not shooting my mouth off a lot because I'm comparing it head-to-head with an S2, while most everybody else is comparing it against the S3. For my purposes, it is an improvement, image-wise, and its IVS with animal detection is so far working way better that the single S3 that I have. On a windy day last week I had over 50 false triggers on the S3 from blowing tree branches and shadows, and one on the PRO, over a 6 hour period. Since I'm not running the PRO in the same location as the S3 I can have only a non-provable intuitive conclusion. The main things I don't like about the PRO are its larger size, bulkier pigtail, and shorter pigtail cable.

If history is any guide, all of the available lottery tickets will get sold.

I think you are right. I search for a completly new camera system and i would like to have the PRO versions cause i want to have dual light and the possibility to turn the warm light on when the cam is detecting something. Warm light the whole night isn't what i want. The 5442 S3 can't do this. Is there a better cam for me than the IPC-T54PRO-ZE?

I still don’t know how you get so many false alerts using IVS on 5442s , either S2 or S3
I have 5442s that stare at big swaying tree limbs all day, very rare to get a false alert

I don't know how either. Here are alerts on shadows and clumps of grass, from the S3:

Are you using Long Distance Mode? Perhaps that's an explanation. When I don't use Long Distance Mode, the S3 misses a lot of animals. I know that from when the S2 and S3 were side-by-side.

I'm not complaining about the S2 because I use firmware in them that doesn't have working human/vehicle filters and I expect them to trigger on anything that crosses a tripwire. I expected better out of the S3, and so far the PRO is acting like I expected from the S3 in this regard. Still a preliminary claim because I don't have a PRO side-by-side with the S3.

Are any of you still using CodeProject on the new(er) cameras or are you all just using human/vehicle detectio from the camera itself and IVS/Tripwires? I've set up CodeProject however I do get a lot of false positives for some cameras.. It even detects the time/date label as a "BUS" on some occassions. I turned up the threshold to 60% and removed some animals that I am not ever gonna see, yet were causing false positives - such as Zebra and Giraffe - however I still get some and that's even with 60% certainty, while I have witnessed 50% certain matches that were correct before, so I don't want to raise the threshold too much. My cameras are currently several T54PRO-AS/ZE pieces, and I do have a Color4KT and a Z4E that I haven't gotten around to mount yet - I will probably want to set up some sort of LPR and facial recognitions/database for the Z4E as well, however that's for the future. I have a BlueIris machine, not a Dahua NVR.

Most of us here have learned that the camera AI is more than adequate for our needs.

There are use cases for CodeProject, but for many the AI from the camera is more than powerful enough.

One thing I liked about the delivery model on CodeProject was it AIed (AIed, wonder if this is a word, haha) delivery vehicles by their logo; Amazon, FedEx, USPS and UPS...BUT, we lived in a area with many of these daily deliveries so every time one would drive by I would get a notification, LOL
