Here is our one year old Boxer in pursuit of Deer this morning, normally she would chase them off our property
the wife called her back and she came this time, Good Girl, she has been listening more lately:

Keep in mind it is pitch black dark still at 5 in the morning...our house lights stop around the pool area.

We have Deer daily now, during the day and of course at night. Deer Season starts here Nov. 1st

Thermals are a must!

Not even just for critters.

It makes a great spotter cam for a PTZ to turn it prior to a visible camera being able to see the person or car.

In the event of an incident, it allows you to make out everything.

We had an incident and the police were called and I was able to tell them where the person was hiding because I could track them on the thermal at distances my visual camera couldn't see.

I'm so ready to have two of those thermal cameras (front and back yards) but my wife still doesn't understand "The Need" for these fabulous thermal cameras. My best way of procurement will be writing a letter to Santa or Andy's Lottery. She also doesn't understand the need of a new Porsche 911 GT3 Wifes :rolleyes:

:wtf: Seems like I am way behind the curve at the moment! Critters of all kinds it would seem, I mean you realise the power of thermal imaging when you see helicopters using them. More money then, more cameras then, just another day then! :facepalm:

Sometimes the need is perceived as the want. You could always suggest the Touring, just explain you decided to settle for the basic model without the wing :cool::p

So, I have a wife too :(, lol, no I am actually happy she is my Probation/Parole Officer, she keeps me in line ;)

$400+ for one of these, of course I got the third degree. WHY? "We already have a camera"...haha, honey we have several cameras...:rofl:

But wittaj is RIGHT, everyone needs one of these...they are great...

Here is how my wife warmed up to it, get it lol. Now, every time before she lets our dogs out she checks the Thermal to see what critters are out there because sure enough our 1 year old Boxer will chase them and it is pitch black out here in the Woods. We even had to get reflective collars for our two dogs which our high beam flashlight can find them. BTW, the Flashlight Rocks, we bought 2 for ourselves and have given them to family as well

That latest video I upped is spotting deer at about 200-250 feet from the Thermal CAM. Now since we have seen so many critters, we are able to identify what animal it is by their movement which is pretty kewl. Deer, dogs, cats, skunks, squirrels, armadillos, all have signature movements. When we first saw an armadillo on the Thermal, it was jumping up with its front legs and thrusting down burying its nose in the ground going after grubs. I had to go outside to see what was doing this, lol.

I turn off the IR on the Visual on the Thermal, it only goes about 50 feet and the Thermal gets what I want anyway.

Ok, I can only find the DH-TPC-BF5421-T which is 13mm available for good deal, also plenty of DH-TPC BF2221-HTM 7.5mm models for slightly more money. Guess this is about the only option unless going with new 4mp model. I could live with 13mm for some testing, how do you find these? I have got half way through the thread! :thumb:
