Greetings gents!

Last year i put a few zumimall wifi cams out in the field. I basically hunted from my kitchen. I would watch the cams while enjoying chili and hard ciders, then roll out carefully and take my shot at the deer of my choice. My plan worked perfectly. I Brought home 3 last season. 3 shots, 3 kills.

This season i decided to ditch the wifi zumimalls (the cold temperatures were killing the battery life). I instead ran cables to 2 hikvision ECI-B14F2 bullet cams.

Had a decent buck roll in a few nights ago:

Also tons of of do’s on the regular:

Anyone else using cams for hunting?

I have my dogs retrieve them for me, lol

Happy Huntin'

There’s been a big boy that has rolled through twice over the past several weeks.

Serious rack. Probably 12-14 points. I watched him walk another smaller buck off the the corn pile.

He’ll be back.

Patience...;)

Yeah, this year has been the year that many of our Oaks have dropped Acorns. We are heavily wooded so we have been seeing full herds of Deer daily here...less feed needed for the feeders this year...;)

Here are some this morning, resting...we have noticed they are becoming more comfortable on our property...our young dog still chases them but she is not running them off our property like she use to. Funny but just a few minutes ago I let out our older dog to do her business and came back in to the PC and see the Deer has not moved.

It is pitch black outside, the Thermal CAM is great, those deer are about 50 yards from the CAM...

Still there even after I went and did my business, lol, no not outside, haha, it is 40 degrees here...

Prior to this cold snap which just happened about a week ago, we have an outdoor shower that I use, mornings were high 50s, low 60s, I was still showering, haha, but keeping the towel close. Anyway, they would be out there watching me, as long as I did not make any loud noise or sudden movements they will still hang around...

In watching the 7am on footage the 4 or so got up and moved on, then the rest of the heard came from the South (right):

Guessing about a dozen in this heard...think we counted close to 15 one time...

Our Older Boxer watching the show...(About 50 foot from the Deer, by our 40 foot Shipping Container), she does not run after them like our 1 year old does...

I wish I could afford a nice thermal scope. Unfortunately that’s a quite a bit beyond my price budget at this point. Currently running a Ruger 350 Legend, suppressed with Hornady 250 grain subsonic rounds. Threw a relatively cheap Sig Buckmaster scope on it and it does the job quite well without bothering the neighbors:

I know, crazy, they are as much as a firearm...

Heard a couple of shots today. Guessing it is the weekend out of town Hunters.

Regular firearm doesn’t start here until the 15th. I’ve still got a little bit of trimming to do to open up my planned shooting lanes.

Looks like the same 8 pointer from last night is back:

With all of these acorns this year, the deer are not going to starve this Winter...heard one rancher say when they stopped feeding them he found a couple dead one year. Guess they get dependent on their feeding spots...

Last month, well Oct., we saw alot of people trailering new Stands, ATV/UTVs, etc. out to their leases/properties getting ready for the season...our small town was busy, it will be busy every weekend till end of season...

If you haven't already, check out the 2nd Amendment Thread here, some good interesting post there:
