Dahua PTZ camera making creaking noises when panning up

Hey guys,

So I bought a DH-SDT3E410-8P-MB-A-PV1, and throughout my last week of testing, I've noticed that it makes a creaking sound only when panning up. Panning down doesn't make any discernible noise. This is heard both through the camera feed and also when standing nearby IRL. This occurs only when it reaches and passes a specific angle, leading me to believe maybe there's a bit of plastic or something left over from the manufacturing process in the gears or the pivot where the vertical motor is. It sounds like a tapping noise, or a creaking gate that needs lubrication.

Has anyone else come across this? Is there a simple fix? Or is it something more serious? I'm hesitant to give it a spritz of WD-40 lol.

Do you have a video with the audio clearly captured?
Hard to tell what type of creaking noise it could be.

Sure. I've turned the camera around to the adjoining wall and reproduced the sound by tilting it up and down.

Please note - despite how close it looks, the camera it making absolutely no contact with anything.

I can reproduce the sound by manually tilting the camera ball up and down with my hand while the camera isn't moving.

Wow so it's that obvious huh?
I was hoping there would be a simple fix. Not keen on shipping this off back to the other side of the country and waiting on a replacement :-\

No, often they are accessible from there in smaller cameras. Just a thought.

Something stucked, but installed outdoor may not hear that noise, PTZ build in audio make any noisy very strong.

It is already installed outside, and can still hear it.
It does not seem to interfere with the functioning or movement of the camera. But I am worried it will cause damage with time.

Also please let me know if you have any other firmware available for this one Andy. I realized the one you gave me does not focus on the dog, even though it draws a box around him. :(

For hardware issue you just contact your local AUS seller, fw i think need a special fw for animals or a NVR to turn off the filter.

I'm not sure what the chances are that the seller will help me with firmware - they will likely refer me to Dahua support directly. And I doubt Dahua themselves will make a special firmware just for me. Have they done this for anyone else?

I only bought this cam because I was assured by you and others on here that IVS tripwires will detect and follow animals.
It seems like the entire purpose of buying this unit is now completely defeated. My dad's gonna be super disappointed and I have now spent over $500 on nothing. :(

Dahua answer to support questions from distributors first, then installers.
Sometimes end users but often they are directed to installers.

Warranty/RMA always go through installer -> distributor.

Do you know who sold the camera to you?
