Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I didn't say release feature source code nor code of others feature solutions. What I said was release the code used to decode the signals sent over poe to the recording equipment. That is almost certainly client side code and probably only a codec at the end of the day. As it's almost certain the features are implemented camera side via hardware / firmware otherwise if client side they'd already be universal, all they'd be releasing potentially is their own poe stream decoding solution.

there is no such thing as signals sent over POE to the recording equipment :)

POE is a Power over Ethernet standards.. except some negotiation for power, it simply sends 48V over CAT5 cable :) Nothing more...

Dahua NVRs and IPCs are using many protocols, all over classic TCP/IP (or UDP/IP in case of P2P), which are sent over Ethernet (or WIFI). As each computer and device on internet.

You are probably are talking about Dahua Private Protocol. Protocol name says Private, but Dahua offers SDK with documentation to it after signing NDA. So you can write own apps for it (and I know one written in Poland).

One more time - it's not up Dahua, how the situation in CCTV apps world looks.
Everything is around ONVIF, everything supports only basic features.

No one wants to implement manufacturers private protocols, features or technologies. Too many brands & features.

Both HIK & Dahua are in very difficult spot. Both are 'excommunicated' by the US and many western governments (due China situation).
They have big market share but investing into them by western companies / developers is very risky.

I spoke too soon. I thought it a tad strange that Andy was shipping the cameras on Monday from his HQ, and that it would arrive here by Wednesday.
I would guess they won't arrive for another week or two. We shall see.
Yep, same here. Got initial notice arriving today but it's still showing in UPS as only label created with no date now.

Me four - says "Shipping Label" created on 9/23/2025 ... but UPS hasn't gotten my package yet.
I reached out to Andy and his reply was:

I understand your concern about the tracking information. For shipments originating from outside the United States, it is common for the carrier's tracking system (like the UPS website) not to show detailed scans until the package arrives at the destination country's import hub and clears customs. The initial "shipped" status on our end means the package has been processed and handed off to the international carrier.

The entire transit time to the U.S. is typically around one week, during which the tracking may appear static. This is a normal part of the international shipping process.

We appreciate your patience and are just as eager for you to receive your new camera!

We don’t have a hurricane around here and my was send out too. Also the new NVR.

[I also want someone to test the latest AI NVR to see if the plugin is still required.]

Since I am totally new to the cams and Software, I am no help at all.

[You can assume that for 99.99% chance plugin is still there :)]
Thats something I don’t even know what it is.

The concept of these plug
And how much typical installation using Avigilon cost?
Camera alone? Plus Avigilon VMS server & license for that functionality?

For now I have one test camera. Installed in "easy" place where old AI worked very well - so new AI do well.

But I ordered 20 new 54PRO cams from Andy for next installs. With 4 * 54PRO-Z4E for remote street / car monitoring.

So in future I should have more data how these new cameras with the new AI perform in real conditions in various installations.
Forget about Aviglion. In addition to being expensive, utterly horrible to deal with.

At one point, a company I own was doing some pretty substantially business. Among other things, we were working on the biggest Mobotix deployment outside of Europe.

Around five years ago, I decided to look into some other brands. I reached out to Aviglion to ask about buying some demo unit. I wasn't looking for a handout. Take my money and send me your best.

They told me that they had too many integrators already, that they were working on getting rid of some that were selling less than 20 cameras per year. They told me that they needed to get rid of one of these guys before I could begin using the product. They then tried to get me to contact one of these tiny integrators to buy the demo unit.

I'm working on a project with 100 locations... And this is your answer? Stick it.

The pricing on a lot of these enterprise-level systems is so outrageous that even enterprise businesses are choosing to go with Dahua and Hik. I had a demo call with Digital Watchdog. My interest ended when I found out that I couldn't swap drives on the $5-10K NVR without voiding the warranty. My enterprise clients wouldn't be having that.

Ubiquti is up and coming. That's who I have my money on (literally, in the stock market). Reasonable prices (e.g. no license fees) and silly easy to use. Yes, the cams themselves are lacking. But the whole ecosystem is just fantastic. They are likely to get there before everyone else.

Finally, I agree with the assertions on this thread that ONVIF is likely to be a dead end with high-end AI features going forward. That said, the UniFi AI ports ($199 hardware dongle) do a really good job of bringing AI features to my Dahuas.

Just received the NVR16CH-16P-2AI-S2 today, so expecting the IPC-T54PRO-ZE cameras to arrive shortly. After swapping 2 HD's into the new NVR, and plugging in the cameras, the NVR booted up perfectly. Easiest upgrade ever. Wow, wasn't expecting such an updated interface. Looks nice and is very responsive, but there will be a slight learning curve, as I finish the migration.

Here are a few pictures. Sorry about the quality, but the TV is in a room with lots of skylights and blinds. As you can see, quite an update. It will be interesting to see what the vehicle entrance and exit is. Oops...for some reason it isn't allowing to post more than one photo.

You mean its better to stay on older firmwares if you have the old Model?

Yes.. On the new NVR model new firmware with new UI will be updated / extended for next 2-3 years.. As it was always on PRO line of cameras or NVRs...
So no worries here... if there are bugs they should be fixed...

I don't know what policy update Dahua will take for older 5xxx-EI (2022 product).. Releasing that BETA for big firmware upgrade with new UI for almost 3 years old NVR was little strange.
I don't know if Dahua will back port updates / upgrades from 5xxx-EI2 with new UI to older model.. if not, better to stay on 4.0 UI...

What browser are you using? Did you have to install the web plugin?

I'm considering upgrading from the old 2AI
