Screen layout no longer working

in an earlier version, i had the layout set to 1up ( which yeilded 1 main view and four small cam views down the right hands side)
when i clicked on another view it would jump(swap places with) to the 1up postion.
I cant figure out how to reselect this feature????

What version are you currently using, do you know what prior version it was still working on? Some details might help! Is this on the BI console view or using UI3?

When you have the 1up displayed, right click on it to bring up context menu; then select (left click) "Solo selected camera".

sadly all that does is open the selected window in full, It doesnt replace 1up and swap positions with the selected cam

Hmm.... It does in mine and I go back to the 1up by hitting "ESC".

i dont think youre following, the one large screen swaps places with the selected one from the side bar, all the other cams still show, its just that the selected one becomes the larger one and the original goes back to small on the side bar, none of the other camera dissapear they all still remain on the side bar and the selected one comes to the main 1up position. It doesnt close all cams and show one big screen! it used to work and now doesnt

I got it now. OK, try this:

In BI's "Settings" (the big gear upper left) => "Cameras", at 2nd drop down entitled "Solo selected camera display" choose "1-up selected camera".
