New NVR or add unused one

I am looking for an opinion about NVR. I currently have NVR5216-16P-I running 13 channels and I have spare N543BP. I need more storage for my system. My current setup holds only about 14 days of recordings and I am not very happy about it. I am maximizing all AI futures from my NVR but I do have some static setups where I do not need AI. My idea was to either move my non AI required cameras to my spare system and add storage or get new NVR with more capacity get rid of both currently used and spare?
What you guys think - please let me know
Thank you

How big are the hard drives in your current operating NVR?

When was the last time you needed video footage from over 2 weeks ago?

Ok.

You can replace with HDs up to 20TB ea per spec, I’ve seen posts by others that have used even larger ones.

I would use the spare myself. It’s a workhorse.

Depends on how many days data you want to store vs budget

Corrected to 20TB each

Ok.

Same unit as mine. (If -4KS2E)

You can replace with HDs up to 10TB ea per spec, I’ve seen posts by others that have used even larger ones.

Ok Thank you for the advise, I have been out of touch for about 3 years on progress in Dahua systems and wasn't sure the value of the new AI futures. I need to find posts about HDD size for my current system and the spare one. I agree about 4KS2E being a work horse.

I initially had the wrong model.

See revised post.
Your -I 16 ch can run two 20TB drives

Most everyone including me would recommend WD purple

Sorry I don’t.

I’d be surprised if it didn’t accept the 22 but have no direct experience

Remember, if you upgrade your a newer EI or XI, when you enable AI on the NVR, you cut incoming bandwidth almost in half.
A downside of using NVR based AI

This is my own system serviced by myself. In motel business more you know how to DIY you can save a lot of $$$

That isn't what I asked....

Let me ask another way.... unless the police are paying for the drives or unless they give you top notch service when you have an incident at the motel, why care about giving them info about an accident that happened maybe a month ago.

Your time is money and to go find something that may have happened a month ago that doesn't impact you or your business takes time unless they can give you the date/time, and if you are not getting anything out of the interaction, then only worry about your own property!
