Hi all, need some advice on this setup, a family member of mine bought a dahua system which incl a nvr DHI-NVR2104-P-S3 and 2 cameras IPC-HDBW1431E-S4. and now i got the task to set ip up. :)
i managed to mounted it and connect the cams to nvr after som trouble (using the nvr as the dhcp, is it the right way? ).
while playing around in the settings menu (both nvr and cams) i could not find any option/section related to "Intelligence"/event trigger or IVS eventho the docs for the cams says that its supported, am i missing something??
also the firmware on the cams are: 2.800.000000.24.R,2020-10-14 and 2.820.000000.36.R,2021-07-23. what is the latest firmware and where can i find it, as i cant seem to find it via the official channels (dahua's page)

That appears to be an older low end camera model and it does not have IVS or any AI features, only old fashioned std MD motion detection

Appears to be an Israeli region only camera.

Generally you don’t want to update FW unless you have a problem. Learn how the camera works first.

And yes using the NVR ports as dhcp is correct

Thx a lot for the links, seems like I was looking at the wrong data sheet. But based on the link you sent it says that it has motion detection?

Regarding the nvr. Can’t I use that as the brain and power for creating the detection logic ? Like we are doing with blue iris and CPai?
Meaning cams sends raw footage and n r processes the image using triggers and motions ?

Thats also a very low end EOL product

I'm wrong below The NVR only supports SMD if ON the Camera, not by itself.

The only option you have is to run old fashioned regular Motion Detection on the cameras

AI by Camera

Perimeter protection; SMD Plus

Perimeter Performance of AI by Camera (Number of Channels)

4

SMD Plus by Camera

4-channel SMD Plus (AI by camera), secondary filtering for human and motor vehicle SMD Plus, reducing false alarms caused by leaves, rain and lighting condition change

The only "fancy" detection it has is SMD, which is juiced up regular MD. It is theoretically "smarter" than MD but nothing like AI/IVS which that recorder doesnt have
It will allow you to run SMD on the NVR for 4 channels.

Once you login to the NVR (use its web interface with a browser on a PC on your network)
you will find MD and SMD under 'Events"
You must enable MD first, then SMD can be enabled. Its an overlay on MD.
The downside of SMD is it will ignore any defined area like in MD, it will use the entire view of the camera

You will need to spend a lot of time defining areas and sensitivity to prevent a flood of false alerts from trees, shadows, birds, anything that moves.

Not to make it worse, but those cameras will not do well at night in no/low light
Horrible sensor size to MP match
4MP, 1/3” CMOS image sensor

do you have any recommendations on what I should swap them out with? Perhaps Andy product?

Andy’s products are Dahua with his sticker
So yes.
Depending on the scene and purpose, lighting, distance, etc.. there are many to choose from

The current favorite is the 5442 series

Same camera in dome

Newer models are being released in a few weeks but unless you are ok with white Spotlight LEDs being on all night, limited benefit
