Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I think the 5442 z4e s3 is hard to beat with infrared picture, if someone need white light/color it would be an alternative

both 5x59-Z4E-IL and 5x59-Z4E-PRO have the same 4 diodes (2 wide/2 narrow) with 120m IR range as 5442-Z4E...
plus there is second option - 80m white range (where 5442-Z4E is lacking) with ability to turn on white based on motion or IVS..

Hybrid lighting (IR + white) doesn't degrade in any way compared to previous only IR models. If someone doesn't want white light, they can use IR only, as they did on older cameras.

Yes, I know Andy once complained here that the TIOC-PRO has weaker IR than the 5442 – but it's a lower-end model (3449 vs. 5442). And Andy compared the TIOC-PRO turret to the 5442 bullet – which is very unfair.

The 5442 turret has terrible IR (very uneven, overexposed center, dark outer areas), and the TIOC-PRO, despite having slightly weaker IR, kills the 5442 in terms of lighting uniformity and usability.

ps. for now we don't know anything about real review pic/video footage from both 54PRO and 54DUAL..
As I understand after some DMs with Andy firmware is not finalized, AI-ISP video processing is NOT enabled yet on those cams.

Probably similar to 34PRO (TIOC-PRO), we will need to wait extra 2 months to receive final AI-ISP enabled firmware (they require time to learn AI models for each camera model / SOC / sensor etc).

big question to everyone:

5442 is called in Andy shop 54IR...
5842 is 58IR
7442 is 74IR

new WizColor 5459-PRO is called 54PRO
this way TIOC-PRO 3449-PRO should be called 34PRO

How we should call Smart Dual Light 5459-IL?

54IL? or 54DUAL?

it's line between old IR and new WizColor PRO line...
I don't know what IL means in Dahua model config (Inteligent Light???)

these naming conventions are crazy!!!!!

I Like -IL at first thought.

Others have dual light also no?

Man, that new Varifocal looks pretty damn good on paper. (IPC-HDW5459H-ZE-PV-PRO and the IL)

Im sure the pros can answer this. Def a big size difference even over the Color4kT 8mp.

With the new size of the IPC-HDW5459H-ZE-PV-PRO VARIFOCAL, can we still not fit a 1/1.2 sensor in this thing? Or another reason?

Cant wait for the full review.

Color4K (5849) cam with 1/1.2" was one time Dahua (and HIK) mistake, which probably will never be repeated.

1/1.2" are too big, too costly and problematic for cheap cctv cameras.
they require much bigger optics (varifocals) than 1/1.8" cams..

There were hundreds posts on this forum about 1/1.2" problems (limited sharpness range, Bokeh effect, lack of IR support, digital over sharpening, compression artifacts)...

1/1.8" are enough for now.. especially with some sensor & SOC upgrades...
Especially for house & PRO market...

Maybe in Ultra line we will see some 1/1.2" with big (much bigger & better) optics in future..
Like in new 78PRO which I hope will be based on 1/1.2" sensor (there is new Omnivision 1/1.2" sensor with IR support which will fit).
and in some crazy big PTZ...

but not for general market...

bigredfish posted somewhere comparison videos from tioc pro and 5442. there the 5442 has better infrared view. he also wrote that the benefit is the automatic color image switch of the tioc. not possible with 5442. as we all know its much easier to recognize someone on a bad color picture than on a good infared. so everything has its advantages.

maybe you are right with the power of the infrared leds. but that was not my point.

on long range (z4e) i dont think that you can beat the 5442. and most people use them for lpr here. i dont see real benefit of color. also white leds above 80m ? not sure about that. but time will tell

You can get the 5442 to switch to color, just takes a lot more light to do it. Its a better image all around. If it had the white LEDs and better light sensitivity it would be awesome.

I hope this is what we'll see with the new Pro

Yeah i mean the smart dual function where the cam detect a human and switch to color fast.

Sure the 5442 can switch to color (if its bright enough) but there is no feature like on these dual light cams

thats a great capture.

how much external light is in that clip?

Thats about 4000 lumen flood

There are other motion activated 400 lumen lights close to the door right above the camera but set for very close range at the door itself

Andy do you need a beta tester for the pro bullet camera in SW florida?

Meta sample from camera and NVR - note the description of data on top within NVR.
File was too big I guess to repost direct - needed YT

A screen capture from the NVR playback not downloaded footage. Not fine tuned - everthing default except H264H 8192 bitrate AI set up, llumination Overexposure Remover - general

Am I the only one who can't keep these new models straight? The names have no useful meaning, might as well be random numbers. I need a name + model number decoder for dummies, or somebody who does understand just saying what to buy while I stay in ignorant bliss.

We’re all there, and it’s getting worse.
I think @steve1225 is on the right track though.

For folks like you and me, I’m gonna make a conversion chart like;

3449-PV-Pro -> 3 series turret with flashy circus lights, white LEDs, great mics, two way talk, 1/1.8 sensor
