Is this how you have your setup? I have never heard of this type of setup running on a hikvision nvr.

I bought a sensor from IT watchdogs, and they said the same thing but I couldn't get it to work. I didn't try too hard and I'm no xpert.

I don't use a HikVision NVR, but I do have cameras send an email to my gmail account. I use filters on my gmail account to forward the email to my Sprint SMS gateway. I need to play around with push notifications on the mobile app a little more. Seems like they have made many improvements since the last time I've played around with it.

+1 on that. Been using BI for a couple of years now. Have no need for any other NVR.

For customers I understand the nvr approach as it cheaper and set and forget. For myself puter and BI is the only way to go.
