Dahua recommendation

Hello,

I would like to buy three Dahua network dome cameras. For a beginner, one usually recommends the
IPC-HDW5231R-ZE.
Nevertheless some new AI 4.0 cams like HDBW5442E-ZE will be available within the next few weeks.

Which one would you prefer?

For now I would skip the 4 MP version because the Smart IR feature is missing/bugged and anything that gets close gets washed out badly.

Agreed, don’t chase the MP and focus on capabilities. We are very close to starting a new house build, as much as I wanted to like the new 4MP cams they don’t fill our low light needs. Someday yes, just not yet.

Reading the specs on the 5231 vs. the 2231 - I am seeing only 2 differences.
5231 does 50/60 fps and has 3 streams
2231 does 25/30 fps and has 2 streams
For a $50 difference - what am I missing here ?

That the 2231 doesn't have a microphone is the biggest different for most folks.

Thanks Looney - still going through the 17 pages from the other thread - LOL.
I've always had a problem navigating the Dahua website - it works fine - but to me it is not really "user friendly".
Probably because of the different model #'s used here and overseas.

Stick to the International models, a lot of them never make to the states.
