i want to open this dahau(amcrest) so i can change the m12 lens

i tried unscrewing the mount to give the wire lots of slack, removed the microsd cover (no microsd was kept inserted), and there are no other screws or tabs anywhere, i had hoped this thing would simply come apart, but no joy. using clamps i tried unscrewing, pulling, but nothing budges. i hesitate to jimmy it open at the seam because it will ruin the baked on black enamel paint there or worse (i could always restore it) so i was hoping there was a better way and my inexperience with this is why i'm at wits end.

Didn't I read a recent post which said you have to "peel" back the "film" which covers the front of the camera? Something like that, eh?

gotta dig in there and potentially ruin it.

Bro. Boldly go where no man has gone before...it's a fuQing $64.00 Amcrest.

Besides...that's what they make Crazy Glue Gel Control for. smiley17.gif

There are 4 screws located on the very corners under the black matte masking on the front of the camera. Just take the xacto knife to carefully lift up one of the corners and the mask peals off. Once the 4 small phillips-head screws are exposed and removed the cover separates from the body

On some of my Dahua bullets, the front blackish plastic just snaps off, on others it's held with a small set screw.

sorry guys, but this mofo don't wanna unglue unless you destroy the camera front;

i tried prying

repeated the prying and pounding and
only ended up discoloring the corner face.

Have you tried prying open this seam?...

of course, it's the first thing i tried - that notch is purely decorative
(see the photo with the 2 vise above the one you "arrowed" for us)
anything you wedge in merely strips the paint inside the groove.
