Running ethernet cable outside

Trying to put my license plate cameras in my mailbox. Was wondering the best way to get the cable outside to the mailbox. I was thinking I could use basic Cat6 and run it through a PVC pipe under the front lawn to the mailbox. But I didn't know what would happen if that pipe got water in it... Didn't know if I should get cable rated for outdoor but that can get expensive. I also already have the cable run through the house/walls and ready to go outside. Any feedback would be appreciated.
