I have the HIK NVR and all of a sudden I try to login while connected to a monitor and mouse and the username shows these random characters in the drop down list. Nothing was changed to my knowledge. Have not logged into it since it was installed 5 months ago. Tried the WEBGUI and username and password I set for it does not work. Did the language get changed some how...

Is there a way to fix this? Reflash, etc?

Build is 3.4.3 106822

This happened to me AFTER the flashing of the latest firmware, as it was from a genuine supplier, it went back and it took them a few goes to re-flash it, the only difference was that I was unable to enter ANY characters, the drop down was populated and would not allow me to enter anything...

i have a similar issue with my DS-7616NI-I2/16P -- after updating to the 3.4.96 firmware, i get a bunch of garbled gibberish in the username field and can't log in. Even got several new xml files from hikvision support to reset my password, but i can't login still with the new password I set (either via iVMS-4200 or directly via the TV interface).

Tried to reflash the firmware via the TFTP route, but it just keeps going in a loop:

Code:
[2018-01-23 23:13:22] TFTP server[192.0.0.128] initialized

[2018-01-23 23:13:54] Device[192.0.0.64] test tftpserver

[2018-01-23 23:13:54] Connect client[192.0.0.64] success

[2018-01-23 23:13:54] Start file[C:\foo\digicap.dav] transmitting

[2018-01-23 23:16:05] Connect client[192.0.0.64] success

[2018-01-23 23:16:05] Start file[C:\foo\digicap.dav] transmitting

[2018-01-23 23:18:16] Connect client[192.0.0.64] success

[2018-01-23 23:18:16] Start file[C:\foo\digicap.dav] transmitting

[2018-01-23 23:20:28] Connect client[192.0.0.64] success

[2018-01-23 23:20:28] Start file[C:\foo\digicap.dav] transmitting

[2018-01-23 23:22:38] Connect client[192.0.0.64] success

[2018-01-23 23:22:38] Start file[C:\foo\digicap.dav] transmitting

anyone have any idea what's going on?

Not an answer, but a request for info if possible about the upgrade?
Where did you get the file from?
Did you use the NVR to 'check' for the update? and dis it say yes or none availabe
Or did you just get the latest and then do the update?

This happened to me also when updating to 3.4.96 I found that when I was local at the NVR, I could somehow get in. I don’t remember how though. I then did a factory reset on it and started fresh.

@Trax95008 did you do a factory reset via either the tv interface or iVMS-4200, or someother way? I can't login and tftp doesn't appear to be working. I've already reset the password via the import XML that hikvision support supplied me (twice), but the new password still doesn't "take" :\

I wish there was a way to hard reset the NVR without needing to be logged in (like a reset button that you can press for hik cameras), but haven't found anything via googling

I believe that I had a drop down menu of usernames. Somehow I was able to tell which was the admin, and my normal admin password worked on that one. I believe I also remember if I hovered my mouse over a name it expanded to show how long the name was, and the ending of the names were different. I was local at the NVR, (monitor and mouse directly connected) and did the reset once I got in

cool thx for the tip. i only had 2 users before the firmware update and now it shows like > 10 but I can go through each one and hopefully one will work!
