Is it possible to manage your whole system from a smartphone? I'm trying to avoid having to buy a computer dedicated to my surveillance system.

if you get an NVR you can manage most settings from there, but there are camera specific settings that will require you use a computer to access..
when you buy an NVR you are essentially buying a "a computer dedicated to my surveillance system."...by using a vms you open up to lost of flexibility and a much better interface.
