For the past 2 days Waymo vehicles have been driving around the neighborhood with a driver and no passengers. It appears they are mapping the streets before expanding their service area.

If you pause the video the driver has hands on the steering wheel, so it appears the vehicle was not self driving. They drove down that dirt road below our house on both days. I suspect their self driving service won't be turned on until they finish the mapping part.
