The cameras already have AI coding. This is supposedly better than H265. This new version is Super AI Coding which is a better version of AI coding. Not too sure on the specifics of it but you would probably need an NVR that has that capability in order for it to work. Then again.... How many people actually used the older AI coding?

It's just a superlative for their existing AI Coding technology, possibly with an incremental improvement. Their AI Coding feature is for if you think the quality of your video feed is too high even at the lowest setting, and you want to lower it further. It works by freezing elements of the frame that they deem to be unimportant. You know, things like faces, license plates, etc. It's supposed to detect constants (such as camera noise), and suppress them, saving that static bandwidth when recording 24/7. But in the real world, it tends to behave as just described. And as it's lacking any sort of adjustable settings, you can't improve its behavior any. PASS on another useless feature!

4 series: using the budget SC485SL and SC855SL sensors like the 2-series PROX, built with battery cameras in mind but also way better than 2024’s PRO on paper and with auto ICR we actually get to put low end Lightbox IR tech to the test.
5 series “LE”
These don’t have any direct tells in their specs like the ones above but maybe using SC489SL and SC859SL representing the very best, latest CMOS from China (w/ Lightbox 2) and, if true, would be interesting to compare to the S3.

Just installed the .13 software on all five cameras. so far fine. I run Self Adaptive on all five. ISA-ISP on, ISA-SSA off. full color 24x7. two cameras in front showing north & south view overlapping, one camera on each side showing east view, and one in back yard showing north view. full 360° coverage mostly.
Nope just saw those released on dahua website. The new 4 series is a direct tell that it’s using SCxx5SL because of the fixed 1FPS stream. We saw these budget sensors in the PROX, but with fixed IR filter, we couldn’t test the “100% IR improvement”.
New 5 series is just speculation - LE might just be a dumbed down version of the old PRO with less storage and RAM.
Have you seen any new options/features, albeit the Release Notes imply there are (basically) none.
Curious to hear your impression if any different in image/video quality, especially at night.

Mystery solved. Almost certainly a dumbed down old pro. I’m not touching a new 5 series until lightbox2 hits the shelves.
Also kind of a shame they’re using the budget battery-focused sensors in a “WizMind” 4 series but there is still a chance these are decent.
