An IDF soldier spoke to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz on condition of anonymity, stating that he enlisted in the army in 2008 and has killed at least 54 Palestinians "including unarmed civilians".
During the genocide in Gaza, he served in a drone cell for attacks.
He witnessed the infamous Israeli army attack on clearly identified ambulances in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood of Rafah in March 2025, in which 15 Palestinian humanitarian workers and medics lost their lives.
The Israeli army denied all charges.
After the discovery of a mass grave containing the victims, it promised an investigation. No Israeli soldier has been prosecuted for the murders.
"They were clearly identifiable as rescue vehicles, even when they were targeted by ground fire", the soldier told Haaretz, describing the night of the attack.
"Without any apparent reason, the ground troops assaulted the convoy. They shot at the first vehicle. The medical personnel got out, hid behind the ambulances and begged for their lives, and the soldiers shot at them too, one after the other" he said.
“After this episode, I realized that anyone could kill anyone they wanted, as many times as they wanted, without having to answer to anyone.”
The soldier, a drone operator, back on duty after a vacation, asks the officer for the targets to load onto the computer.
"In Gaza you have two million targets to hit" the officer replies.
"They shoot at anyone they see", he said, describing what he compares to the atmosphere of a soccer stadium inside his operational base.
"Just like they shout at a player: 'Come on, score a goal!', in the same way they shout at a soldier: 'Kill him, attack him!'.
The soldier witnessed, without intervening, scenes in which Israeli forces monitored heinous acts committed by collaborationalist militias of Palestinian criminality supported and financed by the Israeli army.
"They burn rows of houses and we watch them from above. Arson, looting, shootings"
This is Gaza, a gigantic extermination camp, a place of the living dead, playground for inhumane Westerners.
