New "edge" cameras

What is the selling point on this?

So from my understanding... This new "edge" camera is the same camera as the "pro". The only difference is new software that would allow for it to run standalone without a Unifi NVR. They added a 128 gig SD card with this camera. At the end of the day this camera would need to be added to your Unifi platform anyways in order to see the footage and data that got recorded on the SD card. From what I gather, it doesn't say anything about having ONVIF... All for at least a $220 premium.... Am I missing something here?

LOL.... Now I wonder.... Since in order to view the metadata of the camera you would need to log into unifi protect... Who would actually use the camera standalone? Since the camera is 4K... 128 gigs would only give you a few days max of recording. Makes sense to have a UNVR or some sort.

Another food for thought... If I just got the non "edge" version but I have an AI Port then it could technically record to an SD card put inside that and accomplish the same thing? I remember a few months ago that the edge cameras would have all the settings available so the user is able to fine tune everything but I don't really see that mentioned.
