It wouldn't surprise me if these tech companies had a policy that employees could not be on social media or the like. Once resigned, they were free from the policy.
I guess a reference to the article I had posted over here is fitting in this sub, as well. No doubt they are using AI in their efforts.

hmmm .. interesting, that certainly seems reasonable.
tho they will still have NDAs, and probably A non-disparagement clause.

Certainly there is some truth to it, and yet the cure seems to be designed to harm those not in the driver seat.
USA if they slow down AI development and the US AI marketplace it will certainly help China AI a lot.
My guess is that those in charge of the USA have no issues helping China if they can make more money in the process.
Restricting competition will hurt the American User / Consumer / other AI startups. Getting a strong feeling that the frontier labs want a strangle hold to ensure they can profit from this game.
Chinese AI coming in a lower price points is probably their biggest threat.

Every Cause, political objective, product launch, business objective, has a propaganda component whether formally declared or not. AI isn’t unique nor is this phenomenon new.
Most are pretty quickly identified, easy to spot by some, and eventually forced to validate their “pitch” or be ridiculed.
I’m sure this is going on with AI but at some point when enough evidence overwhelms the propaganda, the truth bubbles up.
I just assume every piece of content I read or view on ANYTHING has a slant, an opinion either paid for or honestly delivered.
The two aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive.
IMHO there’s far more paid propaganda coming from the US side than China. When you’re dealing in $Trillions that you don’t have, paid propaganda is essential.
It takes a lot of convincing to get the peasants to fork over their $ for something that hasn’t yet proved its value.
Great example of a propaganda er, influence campaign that backfired. They don’t always work

JUST IN: Sam Altman has reportedly told OpenAI staff he is open to slowing development of cutting-edge AI.
Right as open source models catch up to frontier closed source ones for 1/10th (or less) of the cost suddenly it's time to hit the brakes!
