The official "WTF" thread

Wow, there is some messed up females roaming the States these days...

Andrea Yates drowned FIVE of her children and also confessed to it and was convicted but it got later over turned, guilty by reason of insanity.

I remember this well since I was working downtown Houston during the trials and the streets were full of News Station vehicles, local, from all over our country and Many from other countries...this was a Huge deal/trial...

I also remember hearing women/people pointing to the father back then too, mainly because he was standing by/with his wife during the trial. People thinking he had something to do with it because of his support for her, which I can understand.

Think if my memory serves me right he divorced her and remarried.

I have not been keeping up with the Lindsey trial. For me, it is too much to stomach. My son said 9 women and 3 men on the jury with one guy as the holdout. My guess he is voting guilty?

I can't imagine what I would do/be like as a father/husband in those situations...

The government has figured out how to keep people's brains preoccupied and distracted from the realms of reality - great job :lmao:

While this is certainly not 'anything new' to today's (lack of) privacy in one's home. It does show some research into what electronics manufacturers are up to.

And I thought I was over protective of our property. LOL

I do like the Shipping Container walls though... :)

I won't mention the major corporation. IIRC, it was a modbus transfer. It used freedos to copy modbus registers over an RS232 connection. The original code was 30 years old and was "public domain" Unix code. the company just put a trademark statement on the top of the script and wanted $1500 each for licensing. We had 4 and used the original Unix script and paid nothing.

I made a tasteless joke to the wife about the pilots just forgetting to put on the brakes. 5 people are dead in the van the plane hit. I begged forgiveness because it was uncalled for. I have since seen the NTSA press conference where they said that at the time of collision the brakes were not applied and the reverse thrusters were not activated.
Years ago, I knew a pilot from Peru. His English was not very good and when he went into his FAA interview, they granted him license to fly without passengers. He could reapply once his English was up to snuff. This plane had no passengers so the license requirement could have been much lower than a commercial airline.

I have since seen the NTSA press conference where they said that at the time of collision the brakes were not applied and the reverse thrusters were not activated.

I heard comments on the video showing it not touching down with both sets of rear wheels. One person commented this might have prevented the computer from sensing it was 'on the ground', and the system never initiated reverse thrusters & brakes.
