Vehicle Crash Causes Power Outage

Interestingly you seem to have lost a couple seconds of video just as the power went out.
Yes, lost about 1 minute from all cameras. I don't know how that happened because everything is connected to battery backups. I made some recent changes to the battery backups. I might have missed a vital connection somewhere. Still doesn't explain why the recording started recording a minute later. The sound of the batteries beeping woke me up so I was awake the rest of the morning.

Oh geez you're right, that was more like 62 seconds lost.

Reliable battery backup is ridiculous though. I have a huge whole home backup system based on an EG4 12000XP. It is ready to take solar input when, some day, we feel like navigating the regulatory red tape for that, and finding a competent installer who won't be fleecing us.

Anyway we don't trust that to switch fast enough. So we also use Ecoflow's portable power stations as redundant battery backup, such as this one:
And stuff still sometimes reboots at the start of a power outage.

Loved the audio. I hear a vehicle's engine racing and then the crash. Dummy!

Was that a first-responder vehicle that arrived soon after? If so, that was quick. Maybe it was a lawyer?;)

I now know why I lost that minute of recording. I recently bought a Goldenmate Lithium UPS Battery Backup to ease the load on my APC Backup UPS 1350 for the Blue Iris machine. I made the mistake of hooking up a switch to the Goldenmate which does not have a fast enough cutover to the battery. This caused the switch to reboot when power was cut. Connecting the switch to the APC should fix the problem. Thanks for the reply as that got me thinking about the lost 1 minute. Need to make sure nothing critical is connected to that Goldenmate box.

That first vehicle did not look like a first responder. It only had the normal civilian emergency lights. About 10 minutes after that first vehicle I saw a fire truck on the scene. Before that I saw several powerful flashlights in a number of places looking for the accident. The crash noise woke up a lot of the neighbors all around this hillside.
