I just tested it again. I'm definitely going to sell the camera.
Shutter 1/60, 55 gain , 45/45 2-3D
I only use “full ir” because of my neighbors. I don't want the white light to turn on when they walk by.Thanks
I run Smart Illum at night so IVS can trigger the white LED's.
That's really the only reason I own it.
Otherwwise if running B&W/IR all night I'll just run the 5442 with a better image

Try full color though, want to see a comparison vs T54PROI only use “full ir” because of my neighbors. I don't want the white light to turn on when they walk by.
I'm done with testing. I'm now waiting for the 2026/2027 models with the other sensors.Try full color though, want to see a comparison vs T54PRO

I would go with the bullet Version. 5442So what is the consensus on which 8MP turret camera to get at this point for low light? I have a 2 of the color4k-t's a 2.8mm and 3.6mm and they have been good but I need to order more cameras. I do like the idea of the added IR as one of the locations I would prefer not to have a light on all night and there are no street lights.
The other option is the 5442-ZE-S3 if I can still find it for sale and not at some crazy markup, although I would still prefer 8MP for further identify range.
Or just wait but not sure if the new models are coming out soon?
I dont need to worry about AI features as im using Frigate.
Its for the front of the house under a covered porch. Where I am going to put the camera there is a walk way where I would like to be able to see about 20-25ft from the camera as people walk up.If you want further identify range, you need a varifocal. Beyond 20ish feet I will take a 5442-ZE over any current 8MP fixed lens or 8MP varifocal on less than ideal sensor all night long.
I’m not sure identify ranges you’re talking about are correct. 4MP 1/1.8 2.8 and 3.6mm have same linear pixel density(identify) as those same focal lengths focused on an 8MP 1/1.2” sensor. The 8MP just gets bigger FOV.So what is the consensus on which 8MP turret camera to get at this point for low light?
