Is the regime in Iran soon to be toast?

Good question and a reason why pentagon never passes a audit. A good chunk of it is just kickbacks and money laundering. Missiles production is highly automated and Russia mostly uses western machines from germany and it goes through several middle men that jacks up the prices of those machines. Yet Russians with a minuscule budget is able to outgun entire Nato miltary industrial complex.

Mebbe someday but not soon Scotty boy

Tell me again why we started the war we just lost?

about 1/3 of the world's fertilizer comes out of the Gulf ...

This stuff does not move by pipeline, bulk shipping is the way it goes.

Something I don't get with this Hormuz blockade. I thought USA was a net exporter of oil, meaning that oil passing through hormuz should have no effect whatsoever on our national security. It might have something to do with the price of gas and diesel, but is our cost trying to keep hormuz open doing more economic damage than whatever the price of gas and diesel would do? It's other countries whose security is affected by shipping through hormuz, so why shouldn't they be bearing the burden of keeping it open? OR, is Israel's security threatened? That would explain it in an instant.

There are massive interconnections which lay under the basic surface information.

Questions to ask
1) USA runs deficits, and those are funded by USA treasuries ( bonds ) .. who buys much of this?
2) USA allies in the Gulf .. sell Oil and Other oil related commodities in US Dollars .. what do they do with their surplus dollars?
3) Japan, and the yen and "carry trade" .. how does the Yen and Carry trade impact the USA and global economy?
4) Where is all this money coming from that are going into the USA AI infrastructure spending?
5) What happens if Japan can not get the oil they need?
6) What happens when US Gulf allies can not sell they Oil they need to sell?
7) What happens when cheap fertilizer stops getting out of the Gulf?
8) Who starts to starve? What will they do? What is the impact?

It gets complex quickly .. basically the US is lying when they state Hormuz does not matter. It does, and it affects the USA.

Even semiconductors production is effected because they need helium. LNG supplies to South Korea and Japan will have a impact which will cause industries to shut down effecting global supply chains and finished products coming from there.
Plastics, Naptha, Sulfur and sulfuric acid, a lot of which comes from Hormuz.
