Is there any reason to add a Ubiquiti doorbell to an AI Port? I got the "Doorbell Lite" and it already has smart detections for human/vehicle/animals. Now..... I did add it to my AI Port just because I had one without anything paired but after a week of using it that way, I am asking myself why? I guess it added line crossing, some audio detections and some video detections. Of those video detections I guess face would be the only useful one. LPR on a doorbell isn't something the camera is in a good angle to do.

I don't see any tangible benefit unless you plan to use it for Face Detection and LPR
As you said, you would be better off with a proper camera or their flagship Doorbell / Access Control for those features

Some things I have noticed..... When adding the "Doorbell Lite" to pair with AI Port, it won't let you run it at full resolution. Limited to 2K and not 2K+.... So I guess I am getting 4MP instead of the 5MP.

IR range is not great, as with all doorbells, but the cameras at the sides of my house that are shooting IR within the viewing range of the doorbell is letting me see farther than which the doorbell could actually do. All in all, I feel this doorbell is great as far as it's aesthetics and the video quality. I didn't think the "Pro" version of Ubiquiti's doorbell is worth the upgrade as I don't need the built in card reader and that small screen that you would need to squint to see does anything for me. It is also a lower resolution. I must admit having the camera pointed down for packages does seem handy though but not at the premium they were asking for.

To use those other authentication features for the G6 Entry line, you also need to spend another $129 for the Door Hub mini
