Hi Andy, I'm trying to buy 2x EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-AS-S3 1/1.8, but your website says they won't ship to my address (UK). I bought earlier model 5442s a few years back via amazon.de. can you advise how best to buy? One of my 5442s has broken and i want to replace it before they sell out!

Hi, Andy. I am looking for a PTZ for indoor to view objects from about 3 meters away. Can you recommend some that aren't very expensive? Tried a Reolink on a whim and its terrible. Under $300 or around there.

I have an Dahua IPC-EW5531-AS fisheye camera laying around and want to put it to use. I've seen there are different views it can provide such as static and ptz capable. Is there a way to get all the functionality of this kind of camera out of Blue Iris? This is from the SmartPSS lite software from dahua. 2026-01-18 13_23_25-Window.png

Since many years ago, Blue Iris has extremely limited fisheye dewarping capability, which only is usable for clip playback, not live view.

The most useful mode is one designed for ceiling-mounted fisheye cameras, but like I said it is very limited (only works for clips) which is a poor experience in my opinion, so I don't have any cameras like that. If I enable the function on a wall mounted fisheye, the result is this:

Greetings, I've recently registered in this forum in search for advice in how to do a hard reset to an ip camera HIKVISION ds-2cd1301-i. I've opened the case and revealed the circuit board in search for a hard reset button, but there is no such switch. The only thing I've found is four copper contacts next to a capacitor (see CP38 in attached photo) but I do not know if they serve for hard reset and/or in which combination.

Any advice will be helpful...

CP38 may possibly be a console serial port. If you have a TTL-to-USB cable, and can determine GND, TX, RX, and VCC values with a digital voltmeter, you can open a PuTTY session to the camera and capture output from the boot process. This console output should give you some indication of the problem.

Wow, You didn't have to take it down to just the board.. do you see anywhere on the board where it says Pins 1 & 2?

Looking for advice on 8 outside cameras for a home. Looking for best price point/quality. I've used Dahue and Amcrest in the past but will go outside my comfort zone with other brands if they will work well. Any and all recommendations are appreciated. As a side note thinking about adding One PTZ in the front as well if there are any good suggestions. I'm using Blue Iris as my NVR. Not tryng to break the bank on this one either. Thanks in advance for any help. Happy New Year.
