Wireless cameras- sort of

I'm working with an old legacy system that sort of happened over the years, with about five different people having five different approaches. I had it running well until the LOREX unit decided to die. Up until now I had four wireless cameras which transmitted to base units connected to the lorex, then the lorex connected to a switch, which wandered through the network until it got to the my office where a server runs Blue Iris. The other 12 cameras in the network are all POE cameras that connect through a bewildering array of switches and boosters covering a 42 acre site.
In a perfect world I would simply have the cameras connect right to the switch but they have a funky connector on the end that only works on the now dead lorex unit. Plan B is to have the maintenance staff install new cables replace the four cameras with POE connected with the switch but that would involve working in a terribly small attic area and I'm sure that will take weeks of pleading and threats to get it off the to do list. My other option is to by cameras that will transmit to receivers that I can plug into the switch. In case you're wondering, I'm an arts major who got this thrown on me because everyone else was smart enough to duck the task. Any camera recommendations?
