Hi, what kind of security system do you all recommend for a 4200 sq ft home. I am needing interior and exterior cameras as well as sensors for windows, water leaks, smoke, etc. I'm trying to provide the best security for my grandkids, as well as do what is needed to get the 20% discount on my home insurance. I'm wanting as much POE as possible, so free up my internet. I had a wifi system before and it lagged so much and of course would miss motion, when you needed it. So it's unreliable and going with the wired approach this time. I do like the look of Eufy S4 Max but they don't have anything that supports multiple cameras. I'd like the exterior ones to record 24/7. Interior motion detected. I also liked how Eufy had the smart lock that read hand print and also had video and doorbell included in the same unit. That was pretty cool. But any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. My experience with security cameras isn't the best. I did read that PTZ cameras cover the largest area, so maybe 1 on all 4 corners of the house?

Personally here have and used (3 homes) a Leviton HAI Omni Pro 2. First and one of two wired combo security / automation systems that used to exist.

I still use mine as the system was built to last forevery. It is considered the heartbeat of the home. I do UPB, X10, Zigbee and ZWave with it. There are many more options.

It is not made any more. Running systems will outlast me.

The next one that I like is the Elk M1 . This company has been around for many many years.

Both of the above products work with Home Assistant. Both are wired systems with optional wireless.

Built a home in LBK, FL and had the contractor wire for alarm. Neighbor liked the alarm and I put one in for her (divorcee).

Needed a quickie and reasonably priced system for mom and purchased the Ring Alarm (all wireless - no work and fast install). Worked fine. All Wireless.

Relating to cameras they integrate to my Alarm panel configuration via html links. That said it is autonomous from the security system. There are trigger motion events that do pop ups on the touchscreens. Mostly everyone here does Blue Iris software. Personally here do Linux software.

I still get a reduction in Home Owners insurance via State Farm but it is no where near 20%.
