I'm thinking of a refurbished Dell optoplex i7-6700 as a VM server (500ssd, 16gb ram) to
host BI in a windows VM
and another VM for plex
and a third for Home Assistant.
Looks like the machine can be had for <$400 and offer a lot of flexibility and last well into the future.
Probably looking at a max of 8 cams or so, with a couple being 4k and the others less. Though i know from experience that they will get upgraded as time goes by.
Am I asking too much for one machine?
Multiple machines has its own hassles....
