I just received the following reply in a email from Ken.
Background: Since 2018 I've been using Tasker AutoNotification to intercept Blue Iris notifications (link). Since Nov 2025, Tasker has been extracting stale alert images from the Blue Iris notifications. This reply was in response to this issue.
I took a chance that Ken soon might be updating the Android app (since we've recently been seeing updates to the iOS app). It appears that this was a good assumption. If you've been having any issues with your Android Blue Iris app, this might be a good time to send an email to Ken.
Thanks. I will be bringing the Android development back "in house" once I am happy with updates to the iOS app this spring, primarily adding the missing "timeline playback" view.
The apps sends a URL with the notification, it does not send an actual image. Google/Android may be caching this somewhere and maybe there's a unique ID that is not so unique ... I will definitely look into that when I am into the redevelopment of the app.
