It’s starting to resemble the final days of the Biden Administration. BI out of stock in the store? along with this forum limping along with database errors every other click, and not being able to upload images or video, with NO feedback from the owner or Admin, tells you all you need to know

Honestly this has been on and off for months since a software upgrade and massive Ad network integration and it’s just gotten worse.

If we could contact an owner maybe we could get an idea on what it would take to buy/transfer the data and membership db? Maybe he no longer wants the headache?

Hosting and bandwidth I would guess are the major costs. Is this purely a $$$ issue?

I think Ken with BI is separate from this business, Anyone know him well enough to get his thoughts?

Anyone have any experience with these?

I'm with you, BRF.

I get it that admin is busy, recently had a child, is busy with multiple businesses...that's great and I'm glad for him! BUT.....The IPCT forum is dying VERY quickly and IMO if its path is not redirected VERY soon it'll end up on a trash heap like another CCTV forum (Cam-It.org) did.

@Mike , If you're listening ...please...get in or get out. Either step up and take care of business and sell it or let it go to someone that will take care of it and allow it to continue to help people and prosper.

There's no shame or admission of defeat by letting it go and allowing it to thrive...I cannot say the same if the numerous pleas from other members go unanswered month after month and it is allowed to die a slow death.

This forum I believe runs on Xenoforum, I have seen a forum that went bust a year back asking about $130 for a month running on a dedicated server.

AI says it costs about $140 for a one time purchase of the forum software and about $50 a year for any upgrades running on a dedicated server like above that allows more control but hosting it will probably need about $70 to $130 depending on the traffic.

Or starting at $650 a year if run on cloud, where Xenoforum takes care of the server and maintenance.

True, there are workarounds to most anything.

Not as good as this one especially for detailed Dahua content, but likely where I'll end up if this one continues to fail with no Admin support

Been down this path with a large enthusiast forum with an owner with curiously similar characteristics …
 
We don’t know.
Someone had comms with someone who supposedly was him a few months back with a somewhat feeble response.

If it’s the same person I’m referencing, he has to be getting up in years as mine was almost 20 years ago

Hey guys, lol @ the conspiracy theories. None of them are right. The fact of the matter is, a 3-year old and 9-month old, as well as a recent major relocation to a new house that instantly needed a new boiler and hot water heater, on top of basically being sick since X-Mas, I have basically had no time for anything!!

IPCT is staying around, me and my businesses are staying around. The fact of the matter is, we are using older server technology which needs a major upgrade. I'm in the process of ironing out the details with my host, but the crazy thing is, I am not experiencing any lag or...

I certainly hope it is not. I consider this my home and go to place to relax, vent an laugh. Lets hope someone, somewhere gets their shit together.
