Hello,

I have an old Dahua IP camera model "DH-IPC-HFW4300EP-0360B". It currently has a "3.6mm 3MP" lens with what I assume is a M12 screw. I would like to replace it with a 25mm (or narrower) lens to make the camera more suitable for watching wildlife. I have found this one:

but unsure if it is suitable. It states 25 mm but also 5MP. I am unsure what the 5MP relates to here as it is just a lens and of course the MP would relate to the sensor. My only thought is that the 5MP must relate to the size of the sensor. Is that correct? If so does that mean I need a lens that says it is 3MP? If I were to use the linked lens on a 3MP camera what would the result be?

Regards

Many of us have swapped these out. The correct M# is what you need. I wouldn't worry about the MP number they say.
