They work so hard, every night. I've watched and admired them for years, the yellow and black garden spider and the especially the orb weaver, very predominant in the South.
As kids we'd be playing hide n' go seek or catching lightning bugs into the dark hours and it was always a spine-chilling thrill to run into one of these strung low to the ground between 2 trees......
