If you are using turret cameras, sometimes the spiders like to hide in the gap between round camera enclosure and the mounting case. The FL Mud dabber Wasps love to crawl in there and make their nests. I use the foam weather stripping material between the enclosure and camera to keep them out. No need to remove the back strip to expose adhesive material because it is just a press fit with the foam.
Spider Webs Covering Outside Camera Lens

This is exactly the problem I’ve been dealing with as a CCTV installer in Ireland. You clean the camera, everything looks perfect, and a day or two later the spiders are back again
I tried sprays and repellents as well, but outdoors I never found them to be a reliable solution, especially with Irish rain.
Eventually I started working on a different approach — a small motorised device that periodically sweeps the area in front of the camera and removes new webs before they build up. It doesn’t touch the lens itself.
I’m now starting real-world testing of it on CCTV installations. I called it Spider Wiper:

Still early days, but so far I think physically removing the webs makes more sense than trying to convince the spiders not to come back.
