Hello everyone! I've been on the forum for awhile, but I decided to register personally, so my stats are starting over! Wanted to seek everyone's thoughts about an upgraded campus surveillance system. We're employing about 10 Digital Watchdog DWC-PVX20WATX cameras, along with 20-25 Amcrest cameras. Around 50 channels altogether. We've been Blue Iris users for a long time, and I wanted to see if Blue Iris would still be the go-to, or if I should consider other software to manage the cameras, recordings, etc. Thanks for your counsel and opinions - I appreciate you all!

I set up a system with 32 cameras for a dormitory on BI. It has 4 18TB Purple drives in it, essentially one for each wing. It has been running for a year now, with only a few hiccups with one camera that took a while to resolve. I had another camera go offline/not recording, and discovered the line for that camera had been unplugged from the POE switch somehow.
This is REALLY important: As your project is for a school, you need to find out if they have to use NDAA-compliant hardware-- that would remove Amcrest from your project.
