Simple Cloud Solution

I have an older non technical family member looking to add some cameras to the perimeter of the house. I can assist with the wiring and setup but they do not have the technical know how or care to maintain on premise equipment. They are also totally fine paying a subscription fee for the convenience.

What are some recommended solutions for a cloud based residential camera system that has a simple android and iOS app where the consumer can get push notifications and check real time and recordings.

I know this is blasphemy but it is the best option for them.

I'd probably go with Ring. At least then they could build on it with a security system.

I’ve set up Arlo and Nest for relatives before — very simple for non-tech users. ACTi’s cloud cameras are another option I’ve used; nice part is no recorder to worry about and the app is straightforward.
