I have a SD4A425DB-HNY PTZ (the mini PTX with a dome). I set up a preset to look at a bird feeder, and every time it goes there it autofocuses on tree branches behind the feeder, leaving what I want to see blurry. I can "fix" this by disabling auto focus on the camera, then every time I manually move the camera to a new spot, I have to do manual focus. Is there a way to shut off autofocus for one preset only? I tried Near Focus Limit. No help from that.

That's funny, I have the EXACT same problem. Same camera, same target that hoses the autofocus. I ended up setting a bunch of other focused presets with autofocus off, but of course whenever I leave those it's a problem. I scoured the forum and the net at large trying to find an API call that would kick in autofocus, but no luck (which is strange, because there's an autofocus button in the interface that will do that).
Here's hoping there's a fix.

What FW are you running?
Mine is
System Version:2.821.0000004.1.RBuild Date:2022-11-29
PTZ Version:V2.401.0000001.47.RHNDG_220906_42754

I run it in Semi Auto on the Focus tab. Not experiencing that.
What is your Tracking Target Size Ratio? Mine is 30. Might try playing with that.

No luck with the Size Ratio, and I also tried moving the feeder around in the frame. My firmware version is the same as yours. I should have added a non-focus picture in the first post. I would have thought it focuses in the middle of the frame, but the algorithm must be different. It does focus nicely on the juniper tree branches that are at least 100' further away.

Wow...

I wonder if you could zoom in even tighter and give it little else to focus on?

Something else to try. I obviously set it to the zoom I thought was most aesthetically pleasing for the BBB (Big Beautiful Birdfeeder ;)).
