Saving Large Chunks of Video from Being Deleted

My daughter passed Friday so I am not quite thinking straight and do not have the energy to research this. So I am hoping that someone will have a simple, quick response to my question.

I need to 'save' video from several cams over a few days time. Is there an easy way to stop BI from deleting video and alerts for specific cams over a few days time? Or would it be better to just copy those BVR files to a different non-BI managed drive?

I would really like it if I can just stop them from being deleted and still use BI to review those videos. Scrolling through a cam group at a time and seeing the alert positions would be very helpful.

Thanks for your help.

You can select multiple clips (hold shift or ctrl) and right click and use the "protect" function. This tells Blue Iris to not delete them.

Protected items have a lock icon. If you are using UI3 you can also view the full list of protected items by selecting "Protected" in the second dropdown on the Clips tab.

It is technically better to copy the BVR files to another storage device or export them all (which can be done in bulk if you prefer) to have them on a separate storage device, since this will protect them from a disk failure or any possible bugs in BI that could cause it to delete protected items.

Thanks guys. That works.
