Reset Dahua nvr 4208

If it were me, I'd definitely place a jumper on those two contacts, then apply power to the NVR while a video screen is attached. Do be certain to allow several minutes for it to reset to default firmware, at least 3 to 5 minutes. After that, remove power, remove the jumper, and re-apply power.
Unfortunately it doesn't work on my NVR 4208.. Do you have any clue ? There is yellow battery that I can't remove, do you think the problem comes from there ?

I'm looking down the rabbit hole of resetting these low-spec NVRs... sorry for replying to a VERY old thread.

Trends I'm finding:
Either a two pin jumper labelled 'J1', or there's pads on the NVR for a momentary button switch.

This one has the 4 pads for a switch, with two more in the middle that might also be wired in parallel.
I'm guessing this might be the reset button location.

Did anyone get this to reset?
I took mine to Dahua's office in my country and they unlocked it.
Or you can find an installer who has a DoLynk Care service who can password reset the device.

for all the fiddle fucking around, and how cheap they are......I mighta bagged it up with a pile of shit and mailed it back. And looked for one thats isn't FUBAR.
If they were easy to reset, everybody would be stealing them and Craigslist people would be sitting in dark alleys with a pallet of NVR's for 75$ each.
