Hello. Small business owner here with an aging (12+ year old) LTS NVR system (8832K and 8932 NVR's). We have over 100 channels on seven NVR's due to large space and a bunch of fish eye cams. Everything is recording H264. We want to either upgrade to newer NDAA NVR's or implement Blue Iris. We are tech savvy staff but I don't want someone to need to maintain it full time. I need it to be mostly set it and forget it like the current NVR's have been. I have been looking at LTS VSN8864-R 64 ch to replace the 32 ch current NVR's but before I do that I'd like to understand the benefits of implementing BI instead. Would I connect my current NVR's to BI or bypass them and go straight to BI? The IP cams are currently on PoE switches throughout our facility so we don't have home run wiring back to our data room.
My desire is to consolidate AND gain updated features AND improve recording efficiency. I am willing to buy new cameras where needed and I have access to a very powerfull Dell PowerEdge server to host BI.
