Hi all,

I have my new Reolink doorbell installed and was very underwhelmed after the first night by the night vision.
Are there any settings that I can adjust to improve visibility in 2-5m distance rather than very near vision (where I have some pollers)

Thank you for your Support.

I think @duplo is correct...IR bounce-back from the beam is causing the shutter to close down somewhat.
Privacy masking will not do it ( pretty sure).

If you don't want or cannot point the cam more to the camera's right with a shim to move the cam's focus away from the beam column then maybe try dark paper on the beam column for the length the cam sees to find out if that will help before getting much more involved with the mechanical aspects of the problem.

Another option would be a saw, quick and dirty.

I think you want to see the front yard/entrance/driveway at night. Better use another camera mounted behind the beams/elsewhere. You will have a much better picture and also another infrared source, which may help with your first problem.

I mentioned HDR before as I was having the same issue. My trim around the doorway is painted white and the image was completely blown out until I enabled auto HDR in Settings, Display, HDR. With HDR enabled, it will take a few seconds when it transitions to Black and White night vision (IR), but the image equals out and you should be able to see more of your front yard.
